2026 - 29th July - work in progress Wednesday...

So I'm still slowly decluttering, and sorting through my large fabric stash and started and finished two wigwam peg bags this week, one for me, the rosali fabrics and one is now finished and listed in my Etsy shop, the brown cotton canvas tree print fabric

  

What else has happened this week, the shed roof has had some felt put on the top bit and the back of the shed, just thin and cheap but hopefully it will get through the winter...

...that just took about half an hour... 

2026 - 22nd July - order, order!

So managed to make a start and finish the peg bag order today and post it as hubby has a long weekend and we have made plans, a health appointment and the cat back the vet again! 

No wonder we are skint really is it!! 

Yesterday I had a health appointment, went out on the 1pm bus and by the time I got home later it was nearly 6pm, so you don't really feel like doing housework but its just making excuses isnt it really? 

ordering food, putting food away, making sure money in the bank for ordering food and for paying bills, feeding the cats, ordering cats prescription, making sure the cat gets her medication twice a day, cleaning litter trays out, washing pots....oh that would be me then.

Apparently I don't do anything, more like people pick up on the one thing I don't do much of...but enough moaning, people don't like that do they, that is loud and clear...

Anyway here are todays photo's of the peg bag made for a customer order. The last of the duck fabric, is has been quite popular this year so Ive been kept quite busy...

remembered to stitch the binding on today!   

This is a cotton canvas tree print peg bag I started yesterday, rushing and forgot the stitch the binding on so at some point I will have to find time to unpick it and then I think I put the lining in and finish it off, so that will be next week now before I have time to do that.

So another weekend,  while the washing was on and some pots were soaking in the sink, I had about an hour so sort out some fabrics, so I started with a small ottoman in the bedroom, fabric have just been put in there to tidy up.

A camo canvas peg bag would be quite different from usual fabrics, "practical/outdoorsy" buyer.

KEEP – Planned Projects for Winter

 (Braided Rug) 

• 🩶 Grey herringbone fabric – already cut into strips, part of braided rug.
• 💙 Blue houndstooth wool fabric – already cut into strips, part of braided rug.
• 🤎 Brown houndstooth – keep and cut into strips to add colour to the rug.
• 🧵 Dresden quilt (cutting/hand work, using remnants)
• 🧵 Double Wedding Ring quilt (longer-term project)

or Christmas table runner with matching mat

• 🎄 It can come out every year, rather than being hidden away.
• 🐱 It's on the table, so much safer from cat accidents!
• 🧵 It is a smaller project, so less chance of getting fed up halfway through.
• ♻️ It uses fabrics already owned and have already started cutting.

The colours actually suit Christmas really well:

• 💚 Green check = instant Christmas/cosy feel.
• 🤎 Brown houndstooth = warmth.
• 💙 Blue houndstooth = wintery.
• 🩶 Grey herringbone = neutral background.

It could look quite "country Christmas" rather than traditional red and green.

Denim patchwork quilt – possible options

1. Keep and finish it

• Denim is hard-wearing and practical.
• It would make a lovely throw for a sofa, chair, spare bed, or cosy winter evenings.
• already started it, so...

1) Finish as two cushion covers

✅ Smaller project
✅ Uses what you've already done
✅ No need to make a huge quilt

2) or make a Denim patchwork bag

✅ Uses what you have already made
✅ A finished item with a clear purpose
✅ Easier to photograph and sell than an unfinished quilt
✅ Less repetitive than making a large quilt
✅ Denim is strong and practical

Things to check:

• Are the patchwork sections big enough for bag panels?
• Is the denim too thick once layered?
• Would it work better as a tote/shopper rather than a structured bag?
• use a lighter fabric for the lining?

denim could pair with: 

• a cotton lining,
• a contrasting pocket,
• perhaps a simple straight strap rather than a complicated shape.

Price-wise, depending on size and finish, a handmade denim patchwork bag could be positioned higher , perhaps something like £25–£35 if it looks polished.
